Brian McDonald is a retired businessman (Caterpillar, Inc.) and educator (Eureka College). He has traveled extensively in Europe and Asia, and he has lived in Leicester, England and Toronto, Canada. After retiring, he took up discovering the beauty of the Western United States, much of it from the seat of a Harley Street Glide. He also dedicated more time to his other passion, writing.

The Defenders, his debut novel, and The Virtue of Vengeance, book two in the series, are crime thrillers that incorporate many of the towns visited across the west. In addition, he has released a light hearted Christmas heist short story, The Red Kettle Caper

In his spare time, he enjoys riding his Harley, hiking with his dog, and playing golf. He lives in Bloomington, Illinois with his wife Cathy and their Italian Spinone Franki.
